Business Development Manager Food Supplies is a leading Canadian distributor of food ingredients and related supplies to the Grocery, Food Service, Healthcare, Hospitality, Education and Foodie markets. The Business Development Manager (BDM) works in a hybrid capacity from our Etobicoke, ON office and will play a key role in driving growth across Eastern Canada. This role will focus on hunting and securing new business opportunities, expanding customer relationships, and generating revenue through strategic sales initiatives. The BDM will collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners to build market presence across new territories and channels, cultivating long-term relationships with new and existing clients, and ensuring alignment with the Company’s growth objectives. Key Responsibilities: · Develops and expands a sales pipeline by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities. · Delivers persuasive presentations to build strong partnerships and secure new accounts. · Prospects, engages, and influences decision-makers to secure sustainable growth opportunities. · Monitors industry trends, customer behaviour, and customer requirements, sharing insights to refine the Company’s competitive sales strategy. · Implements marketing and promotional initiatives to enhance brand visibility and market reach. · Designs and executes a comprehensive business development strategy aligned with company goals. · Represents the Company at industry events and training sessions to strengthen market presence. · Promotes the Company’s products and services by identifying and addressing customer challenges. · Provides post-sales support and gathers feedback to ensure customer satisfaction and retention. · Collaborates with the Inside Sales Representative and clearly communicates sales priorities to ensure optimal execution and service delivery. Qualifications: · Bachelor’s degree with a focus on Business, Marketing, or related field preferred or equivalent work experience. · Minimum 3-5 years’ business development/sales experience, preferably in a rapidly growing business selling to similar target markets. · Consistent record of exceeding sales targets, with demonstrated success in developing market opportunities and acquiring new customers. · Strong understanding of Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs), industry trends, and distribution channels. · Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to manage complex relationships. · Strategic problem-solving capability with exceptional organizational and prioritization skills in order to achieve goals. · Entrepreneurial and adaptable, with high motivation and the ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative environment. · Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM platforms. · Ability and willingness to travel domestically (up to 10 to 25% of the time). · Possesses a valid Canadian driver’s license and/or access to reliable transportation. · Eligibility to work in Canada.
