About Palladium Palladium is an AXL-backed venture building a sovereign and secure AI platform for the legal sector. We are creating a new category of legal AI for high-trust environments where confidentiality, control, reliability, and accountability are essential. This is an opportunity to join at the ground floor of an ambitious company, help define its technical foundation, and build AI-first infrastructure for one of the world’s most important professional markets. Who You Are We are looking for an exceptional builder with strong founder instincts. This is a hands-on technical role for someone who wants to be deep in the codebase, making key architecture decisions, building core systems, and moving quickly from concept to working product. It is not a purely managerial CTO role. The ideal candidate is technically excellent, product-minded, and comfortable operating in ambiguity. You care about building secure, reliable AI systems for professional environments where trust and precision matter. You may already be ready for the CTO title, or you may be a very strong technical lead who can grow into that role as the company scales. Strong communication is important, but we care most about technical ability, judgment, ownership, and the drive to build something ambitious from zero. Key Responsibilities Build the Core AI Platform: Architect and implement the secure AI systems that power Palladium’s product experience, with a focus on reliability, privacy, and control. Own Technical Architecture: Make foundational decisions across application architecture, backend systems, AI infrastructure, data handling, and product scalability. Develop Secure Legal Workflows: Build systems that allow legal professionals to work confidently with sensitive information in a secure, structured, and auditable environment. Create Trustworthy AI Experiences: Design and implement features that make AI outputs easier to verify, trace, and understand in high-stakes professional settings. Move Quickly from Prototype to Product: Work closely with the founding team to turn early product concepts into polished, production-ready experiences. Set Engineering Standards: Establish the technical practices, code quality, infrastructure patterns, and security mindset that will shape the company as it grows. Balance Product, AI, and Security Trade-offs: Navigate complex decisions across user experience, AI capability, data privacy, and enterprise-grade reliability. Tech Stack Our current stack includes React, TypeScript, Python, FastAPI, Node.js, Supabase, and vector search infrastructure. Experience with LLM APIs, RAG systems, GraphRAG, secure data handling, enterprise deployments, white-labeled systems, infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, and secure AI workflows is especially valuable. As a founding technical leader, you will help evolve the architecture as the product and company mature. What We’re Looking For 0 → 1 Startup Execution: Experience building and shipping production-grade software in early-stage environments, with comfort operating through ambiguity, rapid iteration, and changing product requirements. Advanced AI Systems Experience: Hands-on experience working with LLM APIs, RAG systems, vector search, AI evaluation, and production AI workflows. Strong Full-Stack Ability: Deep practical experience across modern web application development, including React, TypeScript, Node.js, Python, and backend API design. Systems Debugging and Reliability: Ability to debug, optimize, and improve systems across application code, backend services, infrastructure, data pipelines, and deployment environments. Security and Sovereignty Mindset: A strong appreciation for data privacy, compliance, secure data handling, and building AI systems for high-trust professional environments. Product Intuition: Ability to translate complex professional workflows into clear, structured product experiences that feel trustworthy, organized, and useful.
