Position #: Expected Start Date: August 25, 2026 Union: SPFA Facility: Regina Campus City/Town: Regina Department: Faculty of Nursing, Health Sciences and Community Services Type: Full Time Temporary Expected end date: February 25, 2026 FTE: 1.0 Shift Information: 199 assigned days Hours of Work: 825 hours (825 hours of student contact/1442.75 hours per year) Relief: No Float: No Field Hours: No Salary or Pay Band: as per the Academic Salary Grid Job Description: 1. Plan/facilitate the delivery of a learning program or course at all three levels within the Paramedic Programs including: providing tutorial, counselling assistance; facilitating labs, scenario skill practice, small groups and lectures; evaluating course/program and result of teaching process; and revising/maintaining curriculum. Responsibilities may also include Practicum Coordination for both hospital and ambulance practicum sites. 2. Develop and maintain community/agency partnerships. 3. Manage the learning environment in both classroom and practicum settings. 4. Participate in Program and School related initiatives. 5. Act as a practicum liaison for Paramedic students and preceptors, assisting with completion of paperwork or evaluation. 6. Establish and maintain external relationships with counterparts from other educational institutions, simulation lab professionals, vendors, representatives of the community, health industry and health education leaders, nationally and internationally. 7. Establish and maintain internal relationships within Saskatchewan Polytechnic. Travel Required: * No Education Completion of an ACP (advanced Care Paramedic) program from an approved school. Licenses Valid Practicing License with Saskatchewan College of Paramedics. Other Education and Training * A minimum of two years’ experience as an EMT-P/ACP or five years’ experience as an EMT/PCP * Current Instructor level certification in International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) and Basic Life Support (Heart and Stroke Foundation). * Current Provider level certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Pediatric Education for Pre-hospital Professionals (PEPP). Competencies • Understanding of an ability to apply basic principles and practices of adult education to assist learners with the required emergency health care knowledge and skills. • Well developed interpersonal and communication skills including excellent written and oral presentation skills and an ability to develop and maintain productive working relations with instructors, program administrators, employers, students, other clients and the public. • Experience facilitating students in a precepted practicum. • Demonstrated competence and recent experience in the use of the internet, e-mail, MS Office Suite software and ability to learn and adapt to changing technology. • Ability to function as a team member in an ever-changing environment. • Demonstrates valuing diversity. Exigences
Candidates must have completed an Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) program and hold a valid practicing license with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics. Additionally, they require at least two years of experience as an ACP or five years as a PCP, along with current certifications in ACLS, PALS, and ITLS.
