Req ID: 225247Location: Central Zone, Dartmouth General Hospital Department: OPCZ PHYSIOTHERAPY-DGHType of Employment: Casual Hourly PT long-assignment (40%) x 1 Union: NSGEU Healthcare PositionPosting Closing Date: 26-Aug-26About the Opportunity Reporting to the Program Manager, the Physiotherapist assesses, diagnoses and treats patients in an acute care setting who present with actual or potential impairment, pain, functional limitations or disabilities. Physiotherapy assessment involves obtaining a detailed medical history, performing specific and standardized tests and evaluation procedures to determine a physical diagnosis. Holistic treatment programs are developed using exercises, education, and manual, mechanical, electrical and hydrotherapy techniques to assist the patient in regaining and/or maintaining an optimal level of function. The Physiotherapist educates and communicates with other health disciplines, the general public, family members and caregivers with regard to health promotion, physiotherapy treatment and patient management. The Physiotherapist provides supervision and evaluation of physiotherapy students and supervision of physiotherapy assistants and aides. As a member of a clinical team, the Physiotherapist collaborates with colleagues to determine team goals and objectives, participates in the evaluation of team effectiveness, and solves problems and shares responsibilities. Exigences

Candidates must hold a Master's degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy and maintain membership with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists. Current BCLS certification and proficiency in computer skills are also required.
