Le Centre intégré universitaire de santé et de services sociaux (CIUSSS) du Centre-Sud-de-l’Île-de-Montréal offre des soins de la santé et des services sociaux à une population de près de 300 000 Montréalais résidant dans la partie sud de l’île de Montréal, comprenant les arrondissements Ville-Marie, Verdun, Sud-Ouest et Plateau-Mont-Royal. De plus, il a la responsabilité régionale de plusieurs mandats, notamment de la réadaptation en déficience intellectuelle et physique, des services jeunesse et de la protection de la jeunesse, de la santé publique et de la coordination des mesures d’urgence. Le CIUSSS comporte une importante mission universitaire dont l’Institut universitaire de gériatrie de Montréal, l’Institut universitaire sur les dépendances, l’Institut universitaire Jeunes en difficulté de Montréal, l’Institut universitaire de réadaptation en déficience physique de Montréal et le Centre de recherche de Montréal sur les inégalités sociales (CREMIS).
