Company Description Taylor Janis LLP is a mid-size law firm handling all matters related to workplace and employment matters for both employers and employees across Alberta and British Columbia. The firm provides personalized, tailored legal solutions for matters such as wrongful dismissal, employment contracts, and human rights discrimination. With offices in Calgary, Edmonton, Red Deer, and Vancouver, the team serves clients through both in-person and virtual consultations. Taylor Janis LLP is committed to accessible, client-focused service and to maintaining strong relationships in the communities it serves. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Employment Lawyer role based in Edmonton, Alberta. The Employment Lawyer will advise and represent clients on a range of workplace law issues, including wrongful dismissal, employment contracts, workplace policies, and human rights matters. Daily tasks include drafting and reviewing legal documents, preparing legal opinions, drafting pleadings, managing a busy file-load, and appearing before tribunals and courts in employment and labour-related proceedings. Remuneration range: $100,000 - $250,000 per year, plus benefits. Professional dues and insurance paid for by Taylor Janis LLP. Qualifications Strong foundation in Law, with demonstrated experience in Employment Law. Proficiency in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating Employment Contracts and workplace policies. Experience handling Labour matters is considered a strong asset . Licensed to practice law in Alberta, in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta. Excellent legal research, analytical, and written advocacy skills. Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and client communication abilities.
