Rezé, ville du Sud-Loire, est la troisième commune de Nantes Métropole, et compte près de 42 000 habitants. En démographie, Rezé est la quatrième ville du département après Nantes, Saint-Nazaire et Saint-Herblain. La ville est née il y a 2000 ans. L’ancêtre gallo-romain de Rezé, Ratiatum, est fondée entre l’an 10 avant notre ère et l’an 10 de notre ère, sur la rive gauche de la Loire. Une cité qui s’étendait alors sur 50 hectares et dont l’économie était fondée sur le commerce maritime et fluvial à proximité d’une autre grande cité : Nantes (Condevicnum).
